I have a biocube 32 and still debating if i want dry rock, live rock, or live dry rock. Obviously all have there advantages and disadvantages. Does anyone have any experience with dry live rock? if so, how was it?

I'm also thinking about live rock, but do you actually have to "cure" it before placing it in the tank? I may sound dumb, but i thought that's what it was doing while cycling the tank.

I will be using live sand for my aquarium as well with stock lighting for which ever rock i choose to go with. I plan on getting 40lbs and don't want to spend more than 250$ which is why i'm leaning towards straight live rock.
Thanks!

I would recommend getting some dry rock, then one or two pieces of live rock. I did that and my tank cycled pretty fast.

exactly what i did for both my tanks, worked like a charm...
Did either of you have any problems with the cycle that way? And did you cure the live rock/dry rock before placing it in the tank and starting the cycle?

Not speaking from experience, (since I have none yet) everything I have read points to curing the rock before putting it in the tank to avoid any potential negative hitchhikers in your tank. This goes for any rock that has "Live" in the name. Again, I have no experience yet, but I plan on having mostly dry live rock with a few pieces of live rock and I will be curing all my rock for at least a month before putting it in the tank to cycle.

Did not cure the dry rock, no need to... the live rock I also did not cure as I only put in 1 piece to have some bacteria going in the tank...

Look on chewy.com dry rock 40 pounds for 44 dollars friend of mine bought some stuff seems pretty nice
