I was on another thread and saw someone say dry rock (i.e. Marco, Reef Cleaners, etc.) leeches alkalinity at first use. Like a LOT of alkalinity, sending your alk way high. Understanding there may be detailed differences, in general is this true?

I did search some but didn't come up with anything.

"Dry" (or live) calcium carbonate rock rock does not.

Artificial rocks made with cement do, and those types of rock require a lot of rinsing/curing before use in a reef tank. :)
