If it is a new tank, let it run its course while blowing/siphoning it off if you don't like the look.

Thanks. I set it up at the beginning of December. It is fully cycled and I have a clownfish, mushroom and zoanthid.

Yeah its a new tank, almost two months old. So I should just wait it out?

Diatoms and what I belive May Be the beginnings of corraline. Usually a bit green.

Esp the lil green far right , and far left.


In all honesty, it looks a LOT better than most diatom probs we see here.

Yeah there are small green dots on the rocks as well. Is there anything I can do? Should I be worried?

Nope. Looks darned good to me.

Corraline algae is good stuff. Often when it starts , it’s like a green tinge to the rock.

No I'm not.

A small amount of purigen or a gfo
Granular ferric oxide will bind the silicates the diatoms like. But be aware , it will strip the water of phosphates if you use too much. Corals and other organisms hate that.

This is a good thing it’s called a cycle it’s normal

Let it run its course! The ugly period will not last for ever, if the look bothers you that much you can take a toothbrush to the rock but i would leave it alone. Sometimes just blowing the rock with a turkey baster will work as well.
