Hello There Reefers,

I have a 35 gal reef tank with a few inhabitants and just some corals.
Now that the hobby is getting kind of addicting to me, i want to scape the tank differently and add a few more pounds of rock.
Since live Rock is kind of expensive i was wondering if adding dry rock would compromise my tank.

So i am reaching out to you experienced ones!

Has anyone ever done that?
If yes, how did you do?

Happy to read your comments!

Yes, it should be fine as long as you are leaving most of the current live rock in the tank. The dry rock will be live rock once it's in your tank for a while.

I have been building rock and adding and removing it for decades. No problems yet. :)
