hi guys..i quit the hobby 3 years ago but kept all the rocks in my store room. am currently planning to start a 6 foot sps tank and decide to reuse the rock.

question is do i really need to cure the rocks or can i just soak it in fresh water to clean it ? thx in advance :)

How were the rocks stored and how were they prepared for storage? Pics

i did not clean it during decom. just threw it in 2 buckets and left it in the store for 3 years . im soaking it in fresh water now, btw i do not have much time as the guys will be coming over on wednesday to start the cycle of the tank

I would pressure wash it, rinse in r.o, and get it in salt water asap. Monitor phosphate

Depends on how much organics was left on it. It's pretty easy to soak rocks in bleach for a week, rinse and let them dry out to make them like new again.

Ok just bought 5 gallon of bleach. It’s soaked now. Must it b 1 week? Will 5 days b enough? Haha
