Hi all.. Anything need to be done before going into the tank? Rinse first or can I just go for it right outta the box? Picked up 50 lbs of dry Tonga Branch from BRS.
Thx :)

You can cure it before you put it in the tank or cure it in the tank during the cycle. If you want to go with the latter of the 2 I would rinse thoroughly and soak it for a couple of days to get the fine particulate off of it!

If i was you i would look on you tube at the brs channel and they have a video on curing dry rock and why you should cure dry rock.. Definitely check that out... Hope it helps;)

Dude trust me take your rocks and put them in a muriatic acid bath for 5 to 10 mins
Then soak in ro water then let it dry out in the sun for a week
I promise you this way you will have zero pest and zero algea problems

I did this when I reset up my 210 and it was the easiest and best thing in 20 years reefing I have done
Me and my 10 year old day daughter just did her rock for her red sea max .the rock is outside drying in the sun now and will go in her tank next week
It's cheap and the easiest way to buy piece of mind
