Dry rock?

Hi new to salt and i wanted to use dry rock with some live i got dry rock from Craigslist my ? Is how long should i soak the rock to make sure there is nothing bad in it ty j

If it's dry rock that hasn't been used you only need to soak it for about 24 hours with a power head to clean out any dirt and debris in the rock. BRS recommends 48 hours... if it was live rock out of another refers tank that is now dry I would do a bleach bath and ask the guy from Craigslist if copper had ever been used with them.

Put the rock in a tote with dirty water from a water change, ad a power head and a heater and let it simmer for a month or so. Change the water when you do water changes. This allows all the phosphate and what not to leech out in dirty water instead of your tank, welcome to the wonderful world of marine aquaria
