Hey all! I'm looking to upgrade to a 90g in the next week and I'm going to purchase some dry rock for it. I'm wondering if I can soak it for a day or so and add it into the tank to cycle along with everything else, or if I have to cure it for more than a couple days. I have some live rock in my 30g but can use it since that tank is the middle of being fishless because of ich. Also I was wondering if there was a way to cycle a tank quickly. Does Seachems stability help get going faster? TIA

Dry rock doesn't have to be cured. But soaking it helps leach excess phosphates out of it. Not that it matters, you still will have to go through the cycle with the new rock.

I would go with BioDigest over Seachem's, but that is just me. Seachem is probably a good product.

Fast cycling? Never! The best you can hope for is the beneficial bacteria get established quickly. But maturing into a good tank takes time.

I would've help at least seed it with the live rock in my other tank and get some good bacteria in there, but that's not an option. I guess I'll just have to start from scratch with this one!
