So, I power washed my dry rocks and soaked them in buckets with rodi water with a pump on. It’s being about 3 weeks and I had changed out fresh rodi once last week.

I tested the water and it yield .15 by Hanna checker.

now, has anyone run a phosban reactor with phosguard or similar fashion to try to get rid of the phosphate?

Are the rocks in the tank or are you testing the bucket water. If the latter, just change the water. I don't think phosban gfo etc will change rate of the existing phophates freeing up,

Then how would you get rid of the phosphate from the rock?

keep changing the water until you are ready to start cycling the rocks, then focus on developing the bacterial film and even the coraline covering. If I was more patient, I'd do this in the bucket for several months before adding the rock to my display tank. if you are like me, then you should keep up changing the water until you see the drop in phosphates and the start the tank cycle. You can use gfo to strip the tank of PO4 as a last resort but I doubt you'll need to.

maybe someone else has a better plan to share. usually its getting rid of the ammonia in the fresh water. first time i came across someone testing for phosphates during the fresh water soak
