Dry Sand Question

This may be a silly question. Do you need to let dry sand dry after you clean it? Its going to get wet in the tank so is there a need to dry it?

I personally rinse it with tap with a fish net, drain and dump into a bucket, repeat. Add RO/DI water and a little Prime. Can add wet then.

That was the plan. Rinse with tap water until uncloudy. Then rinse with RODI didn't think about prime, but noted.....
