Dry time for equipment when Velvet is involved

I read that with Ich the equipment just needs to dry thoroughly to be safe to use again. Is this true also with equipment that was in contact with Velvet?

Yes. You can speed up the process with a fan. It's also a good idea to sterilize the equipment first with bleach or vinegar, then allow it to dry

The @Humblefish article says to let it dry completely for at least 24 hours. I'm not sure when the tomonts and dinospores actually die in the drying process. I'd trust whatever @melypr1985 says In my case, I immediately cleaned everything with a 10% bleach solution and then let that dry out.

I would! You can't be sure that you cleaned every little bit of it.

I would let it completely dry for easily 24 hrs. Drops of water can be in the cracks of the plastic upper ring and so on. Velvet is nothing to play with...

You would rinse it really well after then let it dry, but you don't have to use either. But I would suggest using one of the two first, since I tend to stick with the "better safe than sorry" motto.

If you use vinegar to disinfect, I would allow at least 24 hrs drying time in order to sterilize.

If you use bleach, that should sterilize on contact. However, I would rinse thoroughly and still allow drying time until the "chlorine smell" is gone.
