DSB and Vodka Dosing

Is it okay to Vodka dose with a deep sand bed? I have read a article that said vodka dosing defeats the purpose of the deep sand bed and that the two shouldn't be used together. The reason I ask is my tank has been established for a year and a half and my nitrates have never gotten below 10. I don't over feed and I do a 30 gallon water change every two weeks on my 135 gallon system. So if any one out there has done vodka dosing with a deep sand bed can u tell me your results and if it would be beneficial for my system. Thanks.

It will not hurt a thing. But if your trates are at ten no worries.
