I added a DSB that's about 4-6" in a refugium area. This is on a SPS tank and I know it's not generally recommended.

If I add turtle grass, mangroves will I still need to do regular maintenance to clean the sand bed?

Is it possible to reach a balance where the roots are maintaining the DSB nutrient export on their own?

I plan to add additional sand critters as well. Thanks
