Looking for a great camera for taking pictures of my tank most importantly user friendly

Nikon and Sony had great black Friday specials and they continue to be great priced DSLR's.

is there a certain one you would recommend like model number
It was the Nikon D3500 on sale during black Friday which is a fantastic camera. I would also look into at least orange filter for lens for great color effects under blue light.

I recently got the Nikon 3500 for my daughter who is starting photography. Great camera for the price. Might just need to upgrade the kit lense to a better one down the road for better shots.

Whichever DSLR camera you buy, you should consider getting a macro lens and a tripod, and learn some of the manual mode settings of the camera. You can capture incredible details of corals that are difficult to see with the naked eye:

Lovely shots. Did you do anything to them in post?

If you want an easy camera with rather good results - take a look at the Olympus Tough series - at least the earlier models (I have a Tough 3) have a tool for adaptive white balance. You just aim to a white part of the aquarium (white sand) - press a button and you can take good pictures even in a light with much, much blue in it. Nearly all pictures (and videos) in my build thread as been don white help of this camera - the later versions 5 and 6 have RAW format too.

Sincerely Lasse

Asking which camera is best is pretty vague. What’s your budget? How much do you want to spend on the Camera body and how much on the lens?

A good/great Macro lens will be in the $500-$2000 range depending on allot of variables.
A good/great Camera body is $300-6500

User friendly is really based on what you are willing to learn. No DSLR will take the best picture in Auto mode. Only when you learn to control the camera will you start to capture better and better images.

What macro lens were you using for this shot? I've been looking at lenses for my Canon ...

These shots were from a Nikon D610 camera with a Nikon f/4 200mm macro lens.

Best Canon for the money Macro lens. And on sale

You can pick up a brand new Nikon d3500 camera with lens for $300 on ebay. I have an older Nikon d3300 and it's a great beginner dslr camera.
