Dsnakes 125g Mixed Reef

Fancy trim on the QT stand, I like it :D
It used to have a 10g sump and the 20g was divided with clownfish to breed.

Now it’s the QT/Rehab palace ;Hilarious

Biggest Starry Blenny ever! Just need to fatten his belly.

I woke up this morning to a QT of dead fish. QT next to it all are fine.

The dead QT is the same from Gem Tang. (It was scrubbed and cleaned) Only thing I can think of is stray volts from the powerhead or old internal hanging filter? I’m really at a loss for other ideas.

The other QT has a newer Aqua clear HOB.

I’ll probably trash the whole setup and buy a new tank/filter.

Oof, bad news but I guess there's a silver lining in eliminating the issue.

That is terrible news. I think you are right to start fresh.

Oh wow..... hang in there man. Hopefully the storms is past now for you. Tough week :(

This sucks, good luck and a fresh set up sounds like a plan.

Sorry Nolan, this sux ! ! !

Yeah. I hate to see any fish die in my tank, let alone these multiple fish :(

I’m optimistic that a fresh tank and equipment will be the answer as I don’t have any other guesses than stray voltage.

I’m not even sure how I would ask for a claim on 7 fish from LA. I’ll likely just eat it as the fish were seemingly healthy upon receipt...

Oh man, that stinks! Sorry to hear that.

I'd say you should still try and get some money back from LA. Even if it's just a few of the pricy ones...you dont know the cause..couldve been a sick fish for all we know [emoji2369] doesnt hurt to try and see what LA can do...they're good peoples lol

It’s got to be that tank causing issues. Just got home from work and the QT tank above it is perfectly fine.

Scopas Tang
Yellow Tang
Convict Tang
FoxFace
Longnose Hawkfish
Starry Blenny (HUGE)

All eating LRS and Algae from a clip.

I’m not treating with anything yet. Just going to observe for a couple weeks and try to fatten them up.

That's strange, looking at your qt pic nothing looks out of the ordinary. Is it a new tank?
That 10g is an older tank, filter, and powerhead. I’ve cleaned between each use. My only thought was maybe I pulled a bit of wire loose when taking the internal filter apart to clean and it’s zapping the water? Though I don’t remember feeling anything in terms of current...

Ah, I was just wondering if it was used and someone resealed it with a non aquarium safe silicone.

But from what I have read and understand, stray current shouldn't kill a fish. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so. @Brew12 should know more about it I believe.

Hasn’t been resealed ever. I’ve never used anything other than some vinegar and water to clean it.

Then what will I blame it on??
You saying that makes me feel like I’ve read that before as well, but I’ve read a bunch of stuff and retain little.

I have also read that somewhere.
Maybe the tank is cursed by the Gem. ;Walkingdead
