So... Time for lights! Should I get 2 Kessil AP 700s or this fixture with 4 Kessil 380s? I feel like the T5s might help.

I have Kessil 360's on one system and t5's on another. I bet the combination would be awesome! I think I'm going to try 3 hydra 26's on my 125g [emoji41]So... Time for lights! Should I get 2 Kessil AP 700s or this fixture with 4 Kessil 380s? I feel like the T5s might help.

I have that light but with 2 hydra 26 and so far I love it. @Crabs Mcjones was running it with Kessils but has moved to MH

And I will say that I absolutely loved that setup. Had it not been for the chain of events that took place, I'd still have that lighting setup over my tank

I know you’re running the AP 700 now. Do you think 4 380s and the T5s would be better than 2 AP 700s? I think the T5s will probably help a ton with how my rockwork is in the back.And I will say that I absolutely loved that setup. Had it not been for the chain of events that took place, I'd still have that lighting setup over my tank

Depends on how many cords you want hanging around. Figure with 4 A360s thats 8 cords (power cord and control cable) with two AP700's its just two cables. Also how do you want to control the lights? The A360's can be controlled via any 0-10V controller whereas the AP700 is WIFI controllable via the kessil app only.

Ugh... That’s s lot of cords, I didn’t think about that yet. I think I want the T5s now though. I’ll have to get another power strip for that many cords...

Lol I had the same issue when I went to my metal halide. I previously had 2 cords, one for the AP700 and one for the Aquatic Life T5's (i modded the light to have only one cord instead of two) and then I went from that to 4 cords. One for the Metal Halide, one for the two cooling fans, and two for the T5's. I haven't figured out a way to mod the T5 cords on this new fixture yet..or if I even want to. I bought an extra PB4 for my reef keeper just for the lighting and it seems to be working out great so far

I can’t wait to get some real lights on this tank. The shadows drive me crazy.
I’m trying to keep up with the sandbed stirring. So far I am doing it 2 times a week. Hopefully I can remain disciplined to do it!

Only thing I don’t like about the ap is that they do not have the app for an iPhone. They do for iPad but not phone.

Dude you are gonna be blown away when you get those lights installed. Good news is you won't have to worry about lighting, or money for lighting for a long time! Just swap out a couple t5 bulbs every year and a half or so. Those 2 700s might bring a tear to your eye when you have the blues turned up at night for the first time! Lol
Btw - you made a good decision with the 700s vs 4 360s. All the cords and giant power supplies are a pain to organize.

I was able to download the app to my iPhone. Looks like it should work. We will see in a few days.
I hope so!
I was going to need an additional power strip if I used the 360s. I was glad this cut a few cords out. I’m looking forward to it for sure.

Man I just tried to download Kessil app again. It tells me only available on iPad. I’ve had these lights for close to a year and I have never been able to change settings that my buddy w an android set for me during initial setup. I’m boggled.
