Dual lowboy frag tank build

How are coral growth and health between the two?
I don’t notice any difference to be honest. But I don’t the same acros in each tank. I have been impressed with the hydras. The radium bulbs are pretty awesome too.

@Battlecorals growing and coloring up. LemonHammer and BlueSnipes. Planning on a battle box soon!

Starting to dose evosps tonight, will update how that goes. So far still very slow growth. I have switched my halides over to Orphek and added a gyre. I will update with pictures later

No major updates to add, but I have ordered a carbon reactor from BRS, also hoping to get a few more corals including a Ora Pearlberry, Walt Disney, SC Orange Passion, and Jason Fox Homewrecker. Will post pictures if I do.

Hey there,

How's the tank doing?
It’s really starting to mature, coralline algae everywhere, acros are still small but growing. Here are a few corals.

Looking real good!
The frags are looking good and healthy! Keep up the good work and keep the build thread updated so we know what's going on with your build.

My build is moving right along. The tank just turned 1 year old. I've had challenges but overcame all of them so far.

Thanks! I had a hair algae outbreak, that’s finally declining. I had neck surgery and couldn’t do anything for 12 weeks but back in the swing of things now.

Oh wow!
I'm glad you are on the mend!
I know how surgery can derail a reef tank. My surgery killed all my corals because I could not walk. I could not take care of the frag tank and lost them all.

On a different note,
How do you like easyreefs EasySPS Evo?

I just ordered the 250 bag along with EasyBooster.

It was rough, luckily my wife helped keep the ato filled and everything else stayed on autopilot. The evo sps bottomed my nutrients out, I lost a few acros to RTN, 1st time I have ever lost acros like that. Probably user error but I stopped it, nutrients came back up and everything that didn’t RTN rebounded and are coloring back up

Oh wow.

My nutrients are higher than I would like but I don't want to bottom out.
My nitrates sit around 20ppm and phosphates about 0.16ppm.
I would like those numbers to be about 5ppm for nitrates and 0.02 - 0.04 for phosphates.

How does dosing sps food and phytoplankton lower nutrients?

My nutrients were similar, but ended up 0. I think coral growth consuming nutrients, it’s a warning on their site to be careful increasing doses to fast, I thought I had more wiggle room to increase with my high nutrients

Good to know.
Thanks for the heads up.

I will be dosing slowly. I have a trident and a reefbot for testing so I will be keeping a close eye on my nutrients.
