This is how I set up my system. I used the pressure as an indicator incase my bypass valve got move. The flow restrictor of the smart buddie is only rated at 100gpd, so with this 150gpd set up I get .75:1 ratio but higher TDS. So I am adjusting the openning of the bypass valve and compare TDS at different waste ratio. Right now I am at 1:1 and TDS is 10, pressure with this ratio is about 70psi. If I open it more to 60psi, ratio is 1.5:1 and TDS is about 9. So for me 1:1 is more cost effective.

Was thinking about the rodi buddie but it like you mentioned is not rated for that many gallons. The one I'm looking at has a switch to turn pressure up or down. I'm getting 45psi looking at pushing it upto 80-90 psi. Then running a 200gpd spectra pure ro membrane. That then connects to the existing 150gpd. I would switch and run larger since waste is more would that be a better idea?

When I was running smart buddie on a single membrane the pressure is 95 on the 50gpd and 90 on the 100gpd. Combining the two brought the pressure down to 80, but this is with the built in flow restrictor. I did the bypass to reduce the output TDS and this further reduce the pressure to 70. You can adjust your pressure to balance TDS, waste ratio and production. I can produce 180gpd on this setup at 80psi (bypass shutoff), and a little over 150 at 70psi(bypass slightly open).
