Dual Tank Setup

I use these tanks for fish and frags after quarantine and before they go into the DT. Top tank is for frags and bottom tank is for fish. Individual sumps for each tank on the bottom. Stand height is 53" and the top tank is 12" tall.

My only concern is access on top of the sumps and the Fish tank. Should I make the stand taller to give better access for maintenance? As drawn I have 10" clearance above the sumps and lower tank.

No room for a side by side set up.

I think you already answered your question.

I would build it taller for easier access. As soon as it becomes a pain you won’t want it. Do it right the first time and you will enjoy it more.
