Dual tds meter placement

i recently got a dual in-line tsd meter to help me manage my Rodi filter replacement.

I'm thinking I'll put one probe right before the Di chamber and then one after it.

I don't see the point in monitoring the water going in. Just want to know if the ro and di filters are working.

Is that the best placement? If not, what would y'all suggest?
 
Yup that's what I'm thinking. I think.

Just so I'm clear. Water goes:
-carbon and sediment filters
-ro membranes
-Di resin
-product water.

One between the RO unit and DI resin and one after DI. The one before DI tells you when the membrane is shot and, if you're diverting the first couple minutes of water (from breakthrough), when to flip the valve back. The one after the DI tells you when your DI is shot.



Also, with your above post, I think it's just the way it's typed, but just to clarify:

Raw Water =>sediment filter=>carbon block(s)=>RO membrane=>DI resin=> pure water
 
You are correct, after the RO membrane and after the DI. Sure wish you would have checked first before buying though. A good handheld TDS meter is much more versatile than inlines. The inlines are not ATC temperature compensated, cannot be calibrated and are limited to two points. An equal priced handheld is ATC, can be calibrated and can test anywhere including your ATO storage, tap water, purchased water, RO, DI and much more.

Hey thanks, AZ. The good news is that I learned that lesson when I bought the RODI unit so I have two handheld units that are temp controlled. I actually think you gave me that advice a year or so ago!

I just wanted to add this in-line meter so I could get a quick glance every now and then. I still plan on checking the output water frequently, but I like knowing that if I forget for a while I'll at least have something there to tell me there's a problem.

When the batteries went dead on my two dual inlines I never replaced them. I rely on my COM-100 as primary with an AP-1 as back up.
