My Duncan has one head that doesn't expand like the rest. It always has, but for the last three days it been flat. Everything else in the tank is doing great. This Duncan has been growing like crazy. It started with 1 head about 6 months ago. Now it has 12 heads. I'm very concerned about this one head. Does anyone know why it might be like this? Is there anything I can do to help it out?

Mine does that occasionally...something irritates it but after several days it opens back up.

Wow. Great pictures, it's slightly freaky how that head is unhappy... Hope it gets better soon.

Thank you. I hope it recovers soon. Right now all of the heads are closed up :( This is one of my favorite corals. If anyone has anymore insight into why it might be like this I like to know. I did just install a VorTech MP10, but it's not blowing directly on it.

I'm traveling for the next couple of days for work. I hope when I return he will be happy happy again.

Is there any other coral near it? Something else could be attacking it.

Mine is not opening at all anyone know if they prefer a shady area of the tank rather than full light?

Mine is in full light on the bottom of the tank. I've got kessil A360WEs set at 63% intensity and the heads are fully open.

I was away the last couple of day. The head is looking better. Still not perfect. There's nothing around him that could be sting him. I just tested and everything tested great. I think a couple more days and he will be back to normal.

Mine is about 12" below the water. I have Radion 13" above the water and they are set at 60% max. Moderate light and moderate to low flow is what he prefers. If the tentacles are swaying slighting that's perfect for mine.

That is great news! Hope you upload a picture of the happy Duncan head :)
