Hey everyone so winter is coming!! I live in Colorado so the winters here can been mild or 2 feet of snow for days!

Is anything I should know about going into Winter with my reef tank - I am more concerned with my RODI unit because its outside along with all my buckets and tubing.

Any suggestions regrind the winter and reefing would be extremely helpful!

Thanks

Andrew

I would relocate the Rodi system I go to Colorado so I know how the weather is.as far as reef tank usually a lot of ppl end up with a bigger heater or a extra one .. depending on the temp in your home if u have it cooler in there u may need a stronger heater I run 2 heaters sometimes in winter depending on how cold it is .

Oh and second heater - very good idea!!!

Yeah never be to safe I guess when it comes to reef tanks. I actually check my heaters more in the winter also... they like to short out during the winter

Yeah I was thanking about were to place my RODI unit - My boyfriend and I rent our currently home - I so can't hook up the RODI unit inside - as I need to find a location that I can hook up when I need it and remove when I don't -- Winters here can be crazy or mild - thats Colorado is called the bi=polar state! HA

My Rodi unit has a faucet adapter maybe u could look into that. There is a couple different types of fittings

Yes, I would also recommend a generator and/or battery backup.

And I came here hoping at least a little that this was a Game Of Thrones reference (the title)

Oh cool!!!! Will that work on a kitchen or bath sink?
Well I guess it does!!! Thank you! I am sure Home Depot has these... I just printed a copy of your pictures so I can go tomorrow and get one!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

This one works on my faucet sink I just unscrew the faucet screen part and put some Teflon tape on it and screw my Rodi into it

Okay cool.. Thanks again!

There is another style one also

I'm using this screw-on adaptor on my kitchen sink. The black lever on the right flips up to divert water to the RO/DI or down through the faucet in the blink of an eye. Got it from BRS, if I recall correctly, and less than $15.
