Got these guys as single head polyps about two months ago and just wanted to show off their insane growth! First picture is about 4" in diameter....second and third picture is about 6-7" in diameter! They started at about 1" diameter.

Indeed one has 4 coming out the other has 6!

I thought I read that Duncan's are slow growers? Guess not.

I've seen a couple 7 head frags on Divers Den - considered using my gift certs on them. Trying to get a good placement idea though since I really don't want them on the sand.

Mine LOVE medium light and low-med flow so I had them on racks for a few weeks and adjusted to the sand to see how they like it there, this weekend is getting them off plugs and into forever homes, but yeah mine grow pretty quickly

Not in my experience. When they are happy and you feed them (they are pigs) they can grow really fast.
+1 on med-low light and flow. They don't seem to change color at all depending on light so flow is the more important variable IMO.

I have a Duncan that is less happy right now - position and flow haven't changed, water parameters have been 'dirty' but hopefully pulling those back in line. Any expert advice on bringing him back to previously glory from this crew?

My colony is 60+ heads now, it’s very adaptable. It’s tentacles become long and flowing in strong flow and short and thick in low flow as seen above. It’s been in all areas of my tank over the years and seems incredibly adaptable. But does get better colour in higher light and feeds better in low flow. So that’s his sweet spot. But it’s beem so hardy, growing in a very nice branching umbrella and is the size of a dinner plate now.

I really love this Duncan, it’s been so dependable and I’ve never ever target fed it. It’s very good at catching fish food as it flows past.

I bought a Duncan with two heads a year ago and now it has 40 or fifty heads. They are hardy also I bought a matted file fish for an Aiptasia issues, and once the Aiptasia was gone it started in on my Duncan. Is slowly recovering. But, I didn’t loose one head.

I would say get those pars back in order and it will recover try spot feeding once a week
