Ok, 3 polyps dead and spreading. What is this on my duncan? Should I cut the dead polyps off the skeletal base?

I am not particularly knowledgeable on coral disease, but that looks like Brown Jelly Disease, dunno how to treat but a dip in some antibiotics or anti microbials may be able to help

+1 for brown jelly. Cut if you can and dip. You'll find plenty of threads on brown jelly here.

I'm not what is close enough to sting it so don't think that is the case here. Just didn't know a healthy duncan would get sick with brown jelly overnight.

It can spread and kill very quickly. It's not really a disease but usually an infection and spreads like one.

Now my dragon soul torch lost a head and my ausi gold is closing up....dang first brook in the tank now this problem. I cant catch a break.

What did you end up doing or finding out?
Appeared to be brown jelly disease. Lost like 7 corals total. I was able to quell the spread by using chemiclean followed by heavy carbon bag in my sump. Everything cleared up and remaining corals looked great but this past week, one of my torches is stressed. Not sure if BJD again but not taking chances. I'm on my 3td dose of ciprofloaxin tonight and everything seems to be decent again.
