I purchased a Duncan about a month ago and it still hasn't opened once. At the store it was healthy and thriving, but for some reason I still haven't seen it open. I have 3 green star polyp rocks that are spreading and thriving, along with a huge Devil's Hand and two healthy colonies of Xenias. Anything else I could try checking?
Sidenote: The Duncan is definitely not dead. When I first put it into my tank my puffer took a small bite out of it, and the brown spot healed and the Duncan is still fully green.

Welcome to R2R !
Tell us more about your tank, how old, parameters, lighting, placement of the Duncan and pics would be nice too
It's a 32 Gallon BioCube that's 4 1/2 months old. GH: 180+, KH: 0, pH: 7, and nitrates are below 20. I have the Duncan in a generally low flow area because I initially thought it could have been flow disturbing it. I could also add that I have a small Hammer colony, a purple tip stylo, and a small galaxea, but i have it up against the glass with the flow directing the arms away from the other corals.

Also, what kind of flow do you have on the Duncan? They like low-medium flow. Too much, and they get unhappy.
I mentioned to the previous response, but I have it in a pretty low flow area. I thought it might have been a flow issue at first but I've moved it two or three times over the course of the last month and a half, but to no avail.

Any Shrimps or crabs in the Display?

I’m in the same boat. I’ve had a Duncan for 6+ months with 100+ heads and they’ve started to close up for the last week and a half. Thought it was because of the dip I was using but not sure. Nothing has changed other than adding new corals. Wanna hear what others have to say
