Have had a Duncan for about 3 months now in our 3 gallon pico. So far so good, parameters stay stable at 8.1 pH, 1.026 sg, 9 dKH, 500 calcium, 0 ammonia, 5 ppm nitrate, 0.1 phosphate. Only inhabitants are GSP, octospawn, some zoas, and some red scarlet hermits.

today I noticed the Duncan was puffy and sort of limp, almost as it could tear away from the skeleton. Also, once it deflated when the actinics came on, looks like the tentacle tissue is damaged.

only issue I can think of is that I moved the octospawn from up on the live rock to the sand bed. Is it possible this is the result of some warfare? Tiny tank, so only so far apart I can keep them, but I moved the octo. These guys will be in a 30 gallon once cycled.

looks to have survived ok,think you answered your own question,i agree :)

Is it possible it’s just swollen from eating? It’s almost like a half deflated pool float. It does expand and contract and still has coloration so I don’t believe it’s dead or dying. Just limp and bloated.
