I've had this duncan for 4 months now. It started out with 4 heads. It now has like 11 and a bunch of them are little baby ones. When will it grow a calcium skeleton and become a colony. It keeps just growing those little heads

Give it time. Some duncs will grow pretty quick in some tanks, others will grow frustratingly slow. I couldn't get mine to grow at all for about a year, then it exploded with growth. I guess it depends on the individual. Feeding goes a long way too :)

Two things come to mind

1. Are your calcium/alk/mag in line, does the coral have what it needs to build skeleton?
2. Have you tried feeding it, routinely.

My Duncan grew quickly (developed branches) but I feed it and used 2 part. I can understand your frustration, that seems like a long time to not see any actual branching just budding.

Tripling in size in 4 months seems like pretty good growth to me.

Spot feed it and it will grow pretty fast. Lighting is also a factor it may just grow into a giant duncan ball.

All my parameters are in check. It seems like none of my corals are using any calcium or alkalinity. Alk stays around 9 and calcium is like between 400-500.
