Yes and no. It got some shade but not much. I wouldn’t thing shading would cause the tissue on the skeleton to die though?Was that head shaded a lot? Looks like it was.

You know,
My nitrates are at 40ppm with no effects on my ducans, their flourishing.
But, phosphates are in check, and stopped stop feeding them long ago.

What kind of dip? Ro, iodine, or coralRx?It might be infected. I would still recommend dipping this.If your LFS will cut it for you that would be awesome. Be certain that it gets a dip afterwards to prevent futher infection.
