Duncan recession! Please help!

Yes and no. It got some shade but not much. I wouldn’t thing shading would cause the tissue on the skeleton to die though?

As in euphyllia, shading, depending on how much, can cause a head to become weak/stressed. I thought I've seen a thread on how to deal with a duncan that's in distress. I'm still looking for it.

You know,
My nitrates are at 40ppm with no effects on my ducans, their flourishing.

But, phosphates are in check, and stopped stop feeding them long ago.

Yeah, I know nitrates are definitely not the issue. I used to run them around 30ppm but dropped it down in August to clean up the algae. I’ll test phosphates later today and see if the gfo dropped it down. I could always do a 20% wc.

Here’s some updates pics. That head is now dead and the recession is spreading.

I'd dip, per the instructions of the dip you use.

Google "brown jelly disease" to rule that out, as well.

go up to that ledge on right side ,where that little acro frag is imo

move duncan up a level

A guy from my lfs told me to bring it in and have them cut it up but I don’t know...
hang tight help will come i'm with cutting also, poss losing middle head?

I’m expecting to lose the middle head. It looks pretty bad. The head on the right is looking upset too but I think I could save it. The two on the far left seem unaffected.
@najer

Rather than cut it up either glue a single head to skeleton OR Fill top with gel glue or just leave it
Moderate light and water flow and assure salinity does not get above 1.028 and feed 2x per week

It might be infected. I would still recommend dipping this.If your LFS will cut it for you that would be awesome. Be certain that it gets a dip afterwards to prevent futher infection.
