Are Duncans suppose to look this way? Daylights just shut off.

They don't look very happy. What lights are they under? What are your tank parameters?

They are under 4 bulb t5's.I started with one head and in about 6 months has gone to 6 heads. Arms do extends to about two to three inches. I'll send a pic when he is extended.

Magnesium =1120, has been low for about a week now. I have already added 35 grams of mag to get it up.

They actually eat chunks of food. Shrimp, squid, clams, mussels, silversides, Reef chili. I have made my own fish food.

Ya lfs store says they can get different looks. I'll just say mine has fatty fingers. :-D. I did like him better with smooth tentacles.

Yours looks good, hopefully when the other heads get bigger he will fill out.

I had a Duncan happy for a couple months and then it shriveled up for a couple days and at times looked like yours. I moved him to a lower flow (was in a strong turbulent flow) and he opened up in a day, bigger than it ever had, and is very happy looking, with three babies. Duncan's are pretty tolerant when it comes to water parameters, tentacle extension usually correlated with flow.

I know they really don't like that much flow. I put him right under a lock line, hardly any flow at all. His arms just kinda float around. He was doing really good until all these heads starting popping out.
