Duncan is a LPS. You might get more help in that forum. I am sure that some SPS keepers have duncans too, but lots more LPS folks do.

I thought I put that down. Thank you for the heads up

Duncan's do well with nutrients in the water. You're running trim there.

I've only seen those stubby Tentacles when eating or not enough flow. The area around the mouth also does look weird imo.
What do you think I'm missing here ? Any suggestion would be helpful thank you

Fluval 13.5 and had Duncan about 7months

Seeing a few things. The algea on the stick above it looks like it could be touching the Tentacles which could be keeping them retracted. 0 nitrates are not good for many LPs corals. They don't need dirty water, but water devoid of nutrients is rough. Is that a green nem below it?

Do you directly feed it?

I do feed them directly reef-roids. How do I get nitrates up than?

Lower nutrient export or raise import. Are you running a skimmer? How's often are you changing water?

How long has it been in your tank?
No skimmer and water change every week. In my tank about 7months.

Also can it be that the saltwater that I'm using for my tank is causing this issue to and that I may need to change up?

I would manually remove as much algae as possible, do not dose flourish. Not sure what your budget is but I would do a Triton ICP test before dosing any elements. Honestly for a tank that small and the amount of water changes you are doing I wouldn’t even worry about that right now. I’m a firm believer in don’t dose for what you do not test for.

I dose Neonitro but I also do not have any algae in the tank. For a tank of that size you can take the rocks out and give them a scrub. I find my Duncan likes a good amount of indirect flow, hates high phosphates, nitrates 5+.

Are you using RODI water when making your salt water?

@brandon429 can be a lot to handle at once lol but this is right up his alley

@Billldg can you please move to LPS forum for more eyes.

Thanks

My Duncan does this when I over feed it. The last time I overfed it, it actually spit out a ball of mysis and literally deflated itself for 3 days. Looked like it’s tentacles were balloons with no air in them. I actually only feed it directly once a week nowadays and that seems to keep it from getting too upset with me.

Believe it or not, my duncan is the biggest drama queen of all the corals in my tank, aside from my bubble coral.
