I have a duncan coral with 20+ heads it hasnt opened up fully in over a month now no clue why everything else in tank seems to be growing just fine qny ideas on why this would happen would be great

Look at it real close I had a tiny shell from a snail get stuck in between the branches on mine and I guess the duncan felt it was there and wouldn't open up it stayed that way till I removed the shell. Other than that try and move it somewhere else if, my Duncans are tanks not much seems to bother them

I'm having the same exact problem. Mine has closed up and won't open. Nothing has changed in my tank.

I hate when nothing changes in the tank and problems pop up. Bad batch of new salt mix? Toxic warfare between corals? maybe try some activated charcoal? any change in flow? New fish nipping?

Mine will not tolerating any near by corals touch it what so ever. Are there any near by LPS that may be stinging it at night with sweeper tentacles? The Ducan is the carnary in my tank, if it's closed I know there is an issue.

Best advice from personal experience is....do several large water changes. It has always worked for me when my Duncan & Candy Canes wouldn't open. Even though my parameters were all within limits and stable. Oh and both corals have been in my tank for 4yrs.

I'm very new to this but I get my water tested at my lfs he says everything is perfect. So I stared doing the big water changes and nothing changes.
