Durso drain system

Hey reefers I have a tank setup and I had the guy from my lfs do the plumbing on my tank. He did a Durso style. My question is that it a little noisy from the down pipe when the water comes out to where the filter socks are the pipe is fully submerged but it sounds like a lot of air in the pipe any idea how to make it silent

Do you have any photos of the setup. I’ve got a durso as well and it’s not too bad noise wise.

I’m just getting lots of gurgling and lots of bubbles in my sump

Much the same as mine. I assume there are a couple of small air holes in the top of the cap.

When I was researching overflows it did sound like dursois generally one of the noisier overflows (though I’ve never found mine too noisy) and if you wanted something a bit quieter you’d need to go to a siphon setup of some type. That said I’m pretty happy with mine.

Bubbles have been the bane of my existence with this sump, but noise wise it isn’t too bad once you close the door on the sump.
