Durso is LOUD

Hey all so my tank has a durso drain I already put a small piece of hose in the cap but it still so loud. I want it alot quieter I do have a gate valve on the pipe. Mind you its not the water entering the sump but the water entering the overflow.Do to space I can't switch to a herbie so help please

You might have the standpipe down too far if it’s making noise dropping into the overflow box. Can you post a couple pics of the box and stand pipe?

Slow down the flow and the noise will go away.
I run around 2-300gph through my 120 and you cant hear it. The faster it runs the louder it gets.
IMO you do not need to run the water through your sump super fast.

You dont need a gate valve on the drain if thats what you have.
You need a ball valve on your return line to slow the flow.

The drain is a factory deep blue/ seapora pipe

I have a dc pump the ball valve is just for maintenance when sump needs to be removed

Thanks didn't think of the flow being to much I slowed the pump down and it's alot quieter
