The hole on the elbow for air. Does it go closer to pipe side or away from pipe side?

Also, does the position of this drain pipe look ok?

Your hole is fine, it really doesn't matter if it's closer to one side or the other, IMHO. What you'll want to do is fit an airline in that hole and run it down into the side of the durso elbow that goes down to the sump. Raising and lowering the air line will have a dramatic effect on the noise the durso makes. And don't rush the process. Sometimes it will take a minute or two for oscillations in the flow to stabilize.

Thanks for the input,

Im a newbie and ignorant when it comes to overflows pipe stuff. Only experience i had was with hang on overflows. U would use the airline to get a siphon going in the elbow/u pipe

So put an airline on that whole and run down how far? ill research on this

Hi,

Newbie question. What is this hole for? Is it to break siphon?

Some durso drain pipes dont have this. Only hole they have is on the top.

Thanks in advance

Yeah. That looks like a totally unnecessary siphon break. Won't hurt anything, just not needed.
