Dusty rocks?! Why!!

why are my rocks covered in detritus? Is there anything I can do? I also have a vermatid infestation that I think the mucus nets aren’t helping to keep my rock work clean..

Any suggestions on CUC, shrimps, etc?
I do weekly 12-15% water changes via apex dos and lately been bumping up to 20% with siphoning the rock and bare bottom.

previously had 2maxspect gyres xf250s and now I’m running 2 MP40s on a 125long.

I would blow off rocks during water change, also do you have enough flow in tank? I have enough flow in tank that it stays suspended. I would honestly add more flow.

just bought the 2 mp40s but I guess that isn’t a bad idea to at least get a third or fourth towards the bottom

Any recommendations for the meantime?

I would add one on the back wall it creates great flow. I have 3 mp40’s and 1 mp10 on my tank and it’s smaller than yours. I personally would add a gyre to that size tank.

don’t know much about Vermidid snails but I’ve heard that bumble bee snails sometimes eat them...

Worth picking up the neptunes wav?

I’m a huge fan of Neptune products and have a bunch of them but I’ve never purchased the wav have heard not so great things about them. I would add a icecap gyre to one side and put one of the mp40’s on back wall. Save you some money as well.

Probably not the bottom those gyres move some serious water if you tune it right you will be able to have higher up in tank.
