Hi all, I have just noticed this morning a problem with my African Flameback Angelfish, he has a whitish growth/lump on his left pectoral fin. He is still swimming around normally, very active as usual and eating. He isn't moving the particular fin very much is the only noticeable trait.
All the other fish in the tank are healthy and he is the boss of the tank so definitely isn't being bullied. Tank parameters are all fine however I am happy to post results if anyone thinks a specific parameter might be important.

Anyone have any idea what this could be and how to treat it? Sorry I couldn't get a great picture but he is fast!
Many thanks in advance.

Is it the spot just where the fin starts? Fish armpit if i had to give it a name without the assistance of google.

i cant tell what it is if its that, but given its body and possible muscle tissue involved i would search bacteria infections, and brook as well to see if that match what you are seeing.

Yes, definitely fish armpit area, looks to have improved slightly today but still there. I have searched pictures but cannot find anything that quite matches, lympho looks the closest. I will see if i can get a better picture today.

Anyone had any luck treating lympho if it does turn out to be that?

Take a look

Yep. Adding Beta Glucan to the fish's diet can, depending a bit on the individual fish, significantly boost the fish's immune system either reducing visual outbreaks (can erupt internally too - popeye, inside the mouth, gills) and in some cases, completely stop the outbreaks. The virus is still there, just beat down and kept down by a strong immune system. Heck, my wife and I take it too. Interesting article on BG below:
