Guys i'm at a cross roads. I have removed most of my corals to my nano 24 in my bedroom. I was debating on how to stock the 55 that now sits with fish only. In there are 2 yellow damsels, a coral beauty, maroon clown and red banded shrimp. I wanted to get a rock beauty, eibli and flame angel. Will these guys coexist or no?

General rule with centropyge angels is that the more similar the coloration, the more likely you are to have issues.
AND they need more room than you think, or you will have problems regardless. 4 pygmy angels in a 55 is too many, IMO.
I would also be concerned about the yellow damsels with that many fish.

Angels in my experience are very personable fish. You can bump into one that is very nice and docile and one that's a menace. If you're trying to put that many in a 55 I would guess it would be really hard to play with the odds so many times and win... That coral beauty that's already in there is also established and will probably not appreciate new roommates... Not to mention the maroon clown. In general I think it looks like you're trying to cram a lot of potentially aggressive and territorial fish in a fairly small space.

I would diversify the population a little, like adding a blenny and a goby. Maybe a wrasse that can outswim any of them... Something like that.

Maybe just the eibli then?

My maroon clownfish is a perfect angel. Never nipped at any fish

I understand, but he also has a lot of real estate. You are talking about 3 new neighbors coming into his territory and "competing" for food and hiding spaces. I'm not saying he *will* get aggressive, but you will definitely be adding to the stress.

Agreed. I think maybe just the Eibli angel and hopefully by September I'm switching to a 75 gallon i already purchased. Just waiting on a few more things and maybe i can expand on livestock choices. I really want a Tomini tang but after the 75 is set up

Yah you can go slow. Also a good idea when you're not sure about compatibility is to get an acclimation box and introduce the new member there for a couple of days and see how it goes...

Or try to add one fish at a time and see if the fish get along. Are you going to put more corals into the 55 tank?

I'm not sure yet. Kinda feeling it out. I left 2 in there and I'm going to introduce a new angel and see how it goes

You may already be aware of this, but if you can rearrange some rocks around as you introduce the new angel, it levels the playing field as far as territory goes and may help alleviate some territorial aggression.

I had damsels bully a flame to death. But the flame angel i have now got bullied by coral banded shrimp. I got rid of the shrimp. Now my flame is bullying a recently added firefish. But the firefish is really quick and has a great little hole it lives and darts into.
