Hey everyone ,

My new addition to my tank is the dwarf golden moray. So pumped to have him (or her not sure of the gender). It's a model citizen in the tank and happy. Even though he is doing good I was thinking about adding a little pvc pipe hideout in my sand bed. I have a 75 gallon so it won't be huge but just a little pipe with two entrances. Will it be safe to add pvc to my aquarium? I have sps and lps and don't want to ruin my water chemistry. Would I have to put the pipe in a bucket of saltwater for a few weeks or will it be ok to put it straight in? Also side note I caught him swimming freely through the tank which is awesome but was wondering if they start to do this all the time or if they usually stay in their little cave? Thanks for all the replies!

PVC is fine to put right in. Lots of people use it in quarantine for fish hiding places.
I've see them swim around when hungry. Other than that they seem to stay in their certain hang outs. Pics would be great. My favorite eel for sure

Mine likes to do laps around the tank when the lights are off in the early morning. Other then that he never comes out unless hes hungry or smells food. Very cool addition for sure, just make sure you have the tank sealed real well.
