I've had this little guy for a week now and I absolutely love him! He is currently on live ghost shrimp but I'm planning on switching him over to frozen one I get back from vacation. I'm using a net to feed him, and after only a few feedings, he already associates it with food. He almost ate some mysis out of it yesterday but backed off. When I get back, I'm going to feed him every other 2 days instead of every other day in hopes that he will bee even braver and attack whatever I put in the net. The light I have on this tank is temporary and will be replaced when I get back.

Awesome tank!
If I keep my 24 running I'm going to do something like this with it :) a lion or 2 and a bunch of softies. Love it!!

Thank you both!!! I'm slightly obsessed with him. I always wanted to name my first Lion Mufasa but it doesn't really fit him. I'm thinking maybe Thor? I'll try to get a video of the next feeding.

No worries :)
I love a good species tank, not many people are doing them so when you see a nice one, it's something special. I especially love lion tanks lol.
I like Thor, it's tough and strong just like a Lionfish :P

I was hoping to get a video of Thor showing off for me tonight but I got this instead. I keep my net sitting on top of the tank right above the power head. Like I said, after only a week, he already associates the net with food. Well, I guess he was still hungry even though I gave him 2 shrimp already today.

Almost wish I'd have gotten a dwarf fuzzy instead of my fumanchu he's always hiding but when he's out he looks so cool!!

I originally wanted a fuzzy dwarf and they had 2 in the store with this guy but this one stuck out at me more than the fuzzies. I was afraid that i would never see him but he is always out.

That Damsel is a good choice; there's no way that Lionfish will catch it. I've had a couple in an aggressive tank for a long time. When the Damsel gets older you'll be able to see it from the street; they glow. Seeing them from the cliffs in Okinawa 50 - 60 ft. down is really why I set that tank up.

The damsel was originally in my mantis tank but when I moved, I decided to put my maroon pair in with my mantis. I couldn't find anyone locally that wanted him so I just let him take his chances in here. He is extremely brave and the lion takes no interest in him. Seeing them from that high up has to be an awesome sight! I may get one more but I want to get a really colorful one.
