Hey guys, important question about eels and ich.

I found ich in one of my systems so I'll be doing th fallow period of 90 days and QT the fish, but the thing is I have 2 golden dwarf eels in the system. I'm reading conflicting information online. Does any one have concrete evidence if eels can get ich or not?

Any help would be appreciated. Thabk you!

I would say no, but wait for expert opinion. Their slime coat should be too thick for it. I’ve had numerous eels over the years and never had one with ich, or any disease

That's one of the things I've been reading and that's what I originally thought, but then i read some comments saying the opposite

If you’re worried about ich I would remove the eels. Ich probably can’t attach to their skin due to their slime coat but their gills would still be susceptible.

I've never seen or had a eel that has ich, but like others have said if you're unsure I would remove them.
