I always like to ask about how long the fish has been in the LFS tank. If it’s a short period I will pay for it but collect a few days later (my shop is happy to ‘reserve’). It’s also important to check its feeding and looks in good health. A poor fish introduced to my tank could cause havoc so I’ll happily watch it for a period of time before committing. Just my thoughts. Really sorry for your experience.
