Halp! This fella is not doing so well. Had reddish rings and some dead spots when I bought It about a month ago. Doesn’t look to be getting any better. I have tried up closer to light, currently sitting on sandbed in shade. I can’t find a happy medium for it. Y sand sifter keeps ticking sand on it /eye roll. I’ve tried target feeding the extended polyps and feeders at night when the lights are out and I can see them extended.

im not sure what I’m doing wrong or if it’s just been on a dying slope from day 1. I believe it was called a Favia.

Just my opinion (worth two cents?) your Alk is too high, mag too low, and most importantly, you have zero nitrate and phosphate. Of course there is much more to the equation, but it looks to me like it’s starving and possibly received too much light. Favia like 150-200 par, slow steady flow, and measurable nutrients in the water.

Shut down the skimmer for a week or so? Maybe dump the cup back in the tank? Lol I’ve read several articles that showed MG ideal between 1250-1350 so I thought I was in good shape?
