So I set up my tank about two months ago. Current parameters PH 8 ammo 0 nitrite 0 nitrates 0 KH 9 calcium 440 mag 1440 phos 0. I'm running my skimmer 24/7, phosban and carbon. I feed every other day a quarter cube of mini mysis and the occasional small nori for the tang. My stock WAS yellow tang, two firefish, two clowns and a royal Dottyback. One firefish jumped in the overflow and died, it happens. The other started getting beat up by the Dottyback. I look in the tank and the remaining Dottyback and firefish have mangled fins, in guessing from fighting. They were eating fine yesterday. Today I come in to find a dead firefish on the sandbed and the head and skeleton of the Dottyback. Is this from fighting and the stress brought on from it or should I be looking for a disease???? The other fish seem fine and are active and eating today. Opinions please!

Dottybacks are evil, replace with royal gramma :-) really though I dont know if all are or not

Seriously though. If you did not qt any of them to start with or do any treatments to rule out diseases, then id say wait, add nothing new, & look for new signs. Go from there.

Its from the fighting. Once they start gettin beat up, they usually end up that way.

I did not QT any of them. The tang, two clowns and the Dottyback were from a previous tank and I had moved then over. The two firefish were purchased from a LFS. I'm thinking fighting and stress from that now with all your opinions. Thanks for checking out my thread here.
