About a week ago, 1 hermit and 1 nasarius snail died. Didn't think much of it. Today/yesterday I noticed my hermits picking at 2 nasarius snails and an Astrea. i've isolated the snails, they don't smell dead but I'm not sure. they aren't moving/the snail body is not coming out of the shell.

Parameters are: ammonia 0, nitrites 0, ph 8ish, nitrates 5-10ppm, temp 78*. fish and cleaner shrimp are all healthy. Any ideas?

Is there copper in your water and how much are you feeding?
no copper, and a normal amount. 3-4 small amounts daily. they are definitely getting some food. i did mix seachem metro and focus (my firefish had white poop) and fed it normally but people in the treatment forum said that was fine?

I run a fishless sytem right now. I have an ATS going with little to no nutrients. I have no algae so my snails are dying off due to a lack of food.

Got them about a month, there isnt much algae but there is definitely some for them to eat. i'm also feeding them the veggie flakes (hermits)

Two of my astra died and three of my nissareus have died. Maybe stress or just normal? When did you get them?

I run a fishless system too so hardly any food could be the reason.

Would better light help?
