Ok so I have had a meat coral for quite awhile. It has slowly been dying no matter what I do. I have just a little tissue left on it. But I never threw in the towel! No it almost appears that new tissue is starting to grow on a portion of the old skeleton. Is this possible? It’s not really colored just appears to be like a purple color and it’s not coraline algae! Has depth to it.

It is possible that it may be trying to grow back. Only time will tell if it does have enough tissue to survive and how much of it actually grows back.

Just looked it up and apparently 'meat' coral is a real thing. I thought it was something I coined to make crude jokes about to my wife.

It’s actually in a whole new area. Not old tissue growing back
I've heard of this happening before, sort of like a new polyp emerging elsewhere on the skeleton? Can you post pics?

It’s very hard to get a pic I had tried but headed to work. I’ll try to post a good one with flow off and maybe even see if the tissue actually has some movement and then I’ll be sure. If it is I will be very happy!
