Dying montipora?

So I have had this forest fire montipora for a while, and a few years ago he split in half and now there are two halves of him in my tank. But for some reason, one half of him looks like it's starting to die. It can't be the water or anything Becuase the other half is doing just fine. Any ideas what is happening?

Sometimes they get infections. Perhaps KFC or ciprofloaxin dip.

But how do I remove it. It is fully encrusted on the rock

Can you remove the rock? Maybe dip it upside down so just the coral is dipped?
