Dying mushroom :(

Hello I’ve had this mushroom for about 3 weeks it appeared to be in good condition when I purchased it but ever since it’s health has gone down hill… Tank is 4 months old I have another mushroom, torch and hammer all seem to being fine. I should add that I can no longer see its mouth and I can see some its mesenterial filaments and it has had like slime or mucus coming from its mouth… thank you in advance! Sorry for the bad pictures!

Questions
1-can this dying coral release toxins in the water and hurt other corals or water quality?

They usually dislodge themselves and float away while in distress. Do you have it in low light not full shade and low flow?

It kind of looks like it’s completely in the shade, it needs light to survive.

And also nutrients in the water, I think you’re ok but borderline so keep an eye on that.

He’s in low flow and is getting about 40 par I moved him to that spot because he was already in what I thought to be a lower light/flow area

Can you move him to a low level rock ledge so he is tilted more vertically. Better chance he can catch nutrients that way. Try and dose phytoplankton plankton daily to help filter feeders too.

I can't really tell much in the pic but I've had some shrooms on deaths door and they recovered as long as you can still see color tissue.

You just need to make sure they can filter feed as needed with phytoplankton. Mount them low and in a vertical or semi vertical position so they can catch stuff. Low light and flow. Perfect for the sides of the tank.
