Hi, purchased this Xenia about a month ago seemed to be doing just fine and pulsing great I added a little goby and a zoa a couple of days later I look at it one morning and I see this. What could be happening also there is aiptasia living on the side of this rock but I also heard they don’t do much harm to softy’s correct me if I’m wrong. Is there anyway to save this coral or is it already gone

from that photo it’s hardly dead… I’ll wait for the calvary and other post but IME I’ve seen xenia do this and then explode and visa versa …
Maybe somethings amiss in the tank, but I wouldn’t be surprised with a happy ending either

Yours looks OK. My xenia can pull right into itself until it's a tight little ball. This has lasted for a couple days before it opens again. Usually this happens after maintenance which can change water parameters, disturb its surroundings, etc. I did have one that died and it literally shrunk before my eyes day by day until it was nothing. It didn't melt or anything. It just looked like it was miniaturizing. My tank was going through a lot of changes in stability, lights and flow and I think it just got stressed and/or didn't like one of the changes. Right now yours looks fine but keep an eye out for further changes.
