Dying or molting???

Checked on my tank and I saw my skunk shrimp like this

Is he molting or dying? He’s been in the tank for a couple of months, always energetic. First time I have seen him like this. Please help!

Have you tried to move it or did you just grab a picture of it? In other words, is the one in the picture still alive? He may have already molted and you're seeing the result of that. It freaked me out the first time it happened.

Try and touch it to see if it moves. Usually when molting they like to hide or tuck into a crevice until their new shell hardens. maybe he feel out?
