Dying trumpet coral?

I got my first trumpet coral about 1 week ago, it has 3 heads and was doing really well. I noticed some vermatid tubes on it so i decided to dip it and break off the tubes, that was yesterday, today i noticed that the one polyp that was the largest is now slightly darker and shriveled looking and the mouth is open but its not responding to food or touch, am i correct in assuming that its it's dead? If thats the case whats my next step? Do I get rid of the whole thing, clip the dead head off, or just leave it be?

I dont have a good pic from before but it was nice and plump, now its just very shriveled looking, it still had a piece of mysis shrimp on it from last nights feeding as of this afternoon

They look okay to me. Probably just reacting to the dip. Coral dips are pretty harsh, a lot of corals react to dipping. If it get worse, post it up. Keep an eye on it, maybe try to target feed a couple hours after lights out when the tentacles are out (also check to make sure they are coming out).

That said, we should probably get your tank's parameters; it is also a good idea to test all your parameters when you see something that is not right. Post up your, Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates, Phosphates, Calcium, Magnesium and Alkalinity for us to compare against the norms. If you don't have these tests, and plan on keeping multiple corals (specially stony corals), plan on getting them sooner than later.

Also, we call these Candy Canes up here in Canada, not sure why; trumpet makes more sense to me!

I havent gotten into testing calcium mag and alk yet because i only have 4 frags right now but im on it, i ordered a red sea test kit the other day it should be in tomorrow and i already have the red sea additive kit for it because i do plan on keeping lots of corals! I was mostly concerned because it was non reactive, but it was my first time doing a dip, i guess i didnt expect it to look so rough after, i will keep a close eye on them though!
